This week, we will consider the next stage of spiritual growth for true disciples – the childhood stage. In this stage, we should help new believers settle in for the long-haul of ongoing sanctification. In order to stabilize these believers for life, we must help them deeply CONNECT to God, to a small group, and to their purpose in life. If we are not successful in this step, new believers will struggle to build a foundation that will support their growth in spiritual maturity. Take some time to read the “Abide” principle in John 15 and begin to consider how you can help young believers learn to abide in Christ.
